    Default E bay / paypal

I have sold my old car stereo on e bay and had e mail to say that payment has been made but when i go into paypal it says payment pending awaiting postage of item? Does this mean that when i print a postage label from the link on e bay that i can then withdraw the funds to my bank account?

Never came across it before and i am reluctent to post until payment is in my paypal and not just pending.

I think it is because people pay via the bank rather than credit card. It's not crap think of all that interest.

Perhaps it's when the bank isn't confirmed.

it may well not be that they have sent an e-cheque.

A lad i work with was saying that he had a similar thing the other day where he had sold a PS3 on there and the funds didn't clear as normal - when he phoned paypal he was advised that it is a new system that they are running - apparently the money is held with Paypal until positive feedback is left via ebay.
If positive feedback isn't left then it starts an enquiry.

Sounds like a crap idea to be honest... but you might want to check with them.

its when the details they have for your extra debit card backup have expired. They take from the bank but guarantee from a second card as well, if thats expired they revert to an e-cheque.

An echeque payment is used when the person doesn't have a valid debit/credit card registered on their PayPal account as a backup funding source, so that they can't send money that they don't have basically.

Graeme - if it's a pending echeque then you should have had an e-mail from PayPal to say as such - just like we do when people buy shop items etc. with an echeque.

EDIT: Given what Phatty said, and if you've not had a PayPal e-mail about it being a pending echeque then that could explain it. Jeez, if that's the new system that they've brought in then that really is crap!! One more way that the seller can get stiffed by a buyer!!
