Default How do you de-ice your windows ?

Run out of de-icer, so this morning I had to carefully use just slightly tepid water on mine, and left engine to run for a while.

I leave my car running (with rear demister on) for 5-10 mins before I set off in the morning.

I've never used de-icer. The amount of people I saw this morning driving along with a tiny gap in their window that they'd scraped was unreal

    warm water for me

If you've got kids it wants to be baby bathwater temperature. ie it should just be a tiny bit warm so that it doesnt freeze straight over, but not too warm so that it doesnt crack the screen.

Scrape it off with a CD case. Then let car warm up to demist the windows, if necessary. I don't normally let engine warm up just idling, but sometimes you have to.

I never scrape the ice off the glass as it can easly scratch it. My company Toyota 4x4 I pour luke warm water over which clears straight away or the Veccy just give it 2mins to clear then off you go.
