Service Booklet

Hi Everyone,

I was just reading the service booklet, Just had the light come on!!!



My Car Vectra C 2003 2.2 Petrol

Last service(5th) 30.01.08 @ 25,189miles

Now on 27,900miles

How come the service light has come on ????

Also, WHat do these mean,

Ribbed belt
Toothed belt & tensioning roller

Please advise,

I'm guessing the service light has come on because it wasn't reset at the last service? That's if it does get reset? I don't think my car even has one. Next service for you should be 40k

Toothed belt and tension roller sounds like fanbelt.

my service light came on a couple of weeks ago even though it had been serviced when i bought it a couple of months ago. it must have been serviced a couple of thousand miles earlier than the car really needed by the supplying dealer, but i'm not sure you can reset it until it actually comes on - if you get my drift! you can reset it yourself though, search on here, i think you hold the trip button in, and hold the brake pedal down whilst you turn the ignition on - but check that's right first.

Ribbed belt would be the auxillary drive belt (fanbelt as some call it) as for the toothed belt , well that is odd because that is a cambelt and the petrol 2.2 is chain driven so don't know what that's about and the service light as has been said; probably wsn't reset at the last main service.

Went backk to dealer and they confirmed it was serviced in sept 08 and they reset the light and stamped the book
