Default 2.2 direct auto help needed

Hi all i have had my vectra 2.2 auto on a 06 plate for 2 months now and it has done 45,000 miles ive bourght the car from a garage near me and have found out that my car has a service history book but with no stamps of history EVER ??? so i rang the garage where i bourght it from and was told to ring the vauxhall garage where it was first bourght to check its history. i did that on friday to be told the computers were updated last month and my car is showing as an astra ???? so they now have no history on my car either. any ideas on what i can do i payed £6500 for the car but im starting to notice little problems like the loud ticking noise from the engine. but im affraid to take it into vauxhall as i have no service history and belive it will affect the 3 year warranty any ideas on what i can do

    thanks all in advance

45,000 miles in 2 years sounds like a company or ex-rental car.

If so, sometimes they dont use/stamp the service book - the lease management company usually logs everything onto their own computer system.

Whether it was company or privately owned, i'd contact the previous owner and ask if they have any records or receipts. Without at least records for parts, Vx wont want to know.

Also - if you have only bought the car 2 months ago (even without a written warranty) any major work (due to the car not being 'fit for purpose') will be covered by the garage.

Try both the above before your 3 months is up.

my old vectra B came without the original service book, so the PDI and first couple of services were missing, a subsequent one had been stamped in the handbook. i bought a blank service book and contacted Vauxhall customer services to see who the original dealer was. they couldn't have been more helpful to be honest. the original dealer was in Preston, Grahams, so i rang them and asked if i sent the service book through the post, would they mind retro-stamping it and posting it back. again, they couldn't have been more helpful. i then took the book the garage that had left a stamp in the handbook to retro stamp it in the right place, and presto! full service history restored.

give 'em a bell, they may have had it done, just not bothered with the book. i doubt they'd run it that mileage without even an oil change, they would have voided the warranty if it hadn't had a spanner on it. chances are a local main dealers have serviced it, then all you need to do is ask them. bit of detective work, best of luck.
