    Default this was a bit worrying

    i did small service on my vectra,had a look around for anything wron,i did not find much except for this,it was loose and could be turned by hand

    and it was a pig to do up

    oh and the car has full vauxhall service history

    did you try a ring key spanner on it rather than a torque

    By the looks of the bolt head..someones had a go at that before?? has it had a different gearbox fitted at some stage. Or is the pic taken after you tightend it up.

    the pic was before i had touched it,when i spotted it i went and got my camera phone and took a pic,as to the gearbox i dont know if the box has ever been off,either for replacement or for a clutch

    Certainly does look like someone has either slackened it or has had the gearbox off at some point.

    Has the car ever had a new clutch or anything major in that area??

    There is a very slim possibility it has worked itself loose so i'd keep an eye on it and perhaps put some locking nut glue on it to stop it comming un-done in the future.

    the bolt holding the camchain tensioner to the head on my car just kind of.....well, undid itself and fell out. at 35000 miles, maybe the same quality control guy was on shift when this car went out....
