    Angry 3.0 cdti fuel consumption

    Hi all,

    i'm new in this group

    I've a signum 3.0 v6 cdti.
    Very beatyful car

I notice that the consomption is very high: 26.5 mpg with a maximum range of 400 miles.

I've bought the car recently; it has has 139000 km and is 06.2004

    I drive for 120 km a day; 40 urban and 80 motorway.
    I "offten" drive respecting all the speed limits 50km/h 80km/h 120 km/h
    with the cruise control.

I've seen a poll with an average of 35!! and I think that my car should have a problem

another note is that it smoke a little bit under hard acceleration

    Have you any suggestion?

    Thanks a lot!!
    Francesco

Chris might be right 26.5 mpg and 400 miles is 15 gallons, I think the tank is only 12? That would put you at 33mpg. Mine does about the same and the smoke is normal when administering an italian tune up.

We went to Kent and back yesterday and I actually seen above 50mpg on the fuel comp! Was doing around 70-75mph on the M4/M25 and checked the computer after about 90-100 miles and it said 51mpg - never had that before from mine.

    Hi Fran,

What sort of smoke do you get under acceleration (Blue, Balck)??

There are lots of factors that effect MPG but i do agree i think you should be getting a little more than 26mpg ish.

Have a check of the airfilter as this could have a direct effect on both of your issues - change if necessary. Does your temerature gauge work okay?? This again could have a diect effect on both issues. Beyond this you'll be looking at getting your EGR valve cleaned and possibly the MAF sensor.

    NO WAY???

How did you manage to get upto 70-75 on the M25? That's a miracle. LoL

I'm lucky if I ever hit 40mph any time I'm on the M25.

Well done, v good MPG too

I too managed to fool the fuel consumption
Filled the car right up as far as it would go...
For the next 30 miles it returned that I had used nil fuel and the range increased!
