How to upload normal sized photos?

help im having problems with the above,it keeps telling me the picture is too big to upload,so then i crop it down to quarter of its size and end up with just the tyres in it.....??????

You need to use whatever software you're using to reduce the overall file size/pixel dimensions to less than 100Kb - not just crop the image down to get that size, if you see what I mean.

still no joy its saying they have to be 100kb whats that all about surley thats the size of a dust cap???????/

100Kb, or less, are what all the images that are uploaded on here are.
