    i didn't remove the rubber.
i pulled the doorcard off the rubber from the 4 or 5 metal clips that hold it on.
1 or 2 stayed on the doorcard but they pop out with a screwdriver/pliers and push back on the door rubber.

that was on a facelift though.

i didnt have problems with the rear doors.. so i expect that the front was the same.. with the clips in the top.. but i actually gave up not wanted to destroy them more..

it was the metal clips i couldnt get to release...

    hi
unscrew all screws and pull the door card out as far as possible.
then get a flat screw driver and prise the top clips off from inside.
a bit fiddly but it worked for me.

Once you've got the bottom part of the card off and away from the door and just the metal clips on the top part still attached, get something like a small hammer and put the end of the handle inside up against the top of the door card at a few different points and give it a few whacks with your end - that normally releases it.

I found if you lower the window and remove the doorcard from the door by reaching through the open window is the easier way of doing it,good luck ken......
