    Default 3.0V6cdti Poor Performance

I have had an on going problem with my 55 3.0V6cdti. When accelerating hard or putting the engine under load (hills in higher gears) the engine seems to miss and start to splutter, if you go over 4000rpm it can on occasions cut out completely and that can be a bit exciting if your joining traffic at speed!.
Its been in several times now and the last time they carried out the recall work for the fuel filter and turbo pipework. I thought this had fixed it but its started again.
I'm going back to the Garage on Thursday so any ideas to help? (apparently the EGR valve has been changed)

It's a known fix for what your describing,

It covers the suction control valves on the side of the high pressure fuel pump. The headed says "Loss of power under acceleration" £88 worth of parts and 6.5 hours labour if out of warrenty...

PM me for more info it it helps...

Car went in on Thursday and was faulting nicely, infact too nicely and was cutting out allover the place and they are not keen to give the car back. Now Wednesday and the car has stopped faulting and vauxhall have asked for all related field repairs to be carried out. I am now on a hire car albeit a corsa but its four wheels and working!

Now they are paying for a hire car I am hoping for a speedy repair. In all honesty Drive Vauxhall have been very understanding and looked after me very well.

I love my vectra even if it has let me down the car is exactly what I need(when its working of course)

When I get the likely cause I'll update again.

    Cheers all

Nice to hear good things about Drive Vauxhall.

Down my way their service is good but their salespeople suck IMO.

    Default Car's Back At Last

Well I collected my car this morning four weeks and two days after going into be diagnosed.

Thankfully it was under warranty because the bill for the car was over £2000.00 + £600.00 for the hire car for the duration of the repair.

It turns out that the fault was down to the High Pressure fuel Pump which has been replaced.

Hopefully I will be able to build my confidence up with the car again, but I think I will always have that nagging doubt that the engine will just switch off when I'm doing an overtake .

Any one else had a high pressure fuel pump replaced?

Ask this question in the 'diesel tuning' section and you'll probably find that it's fairly common on the face-lift v6 diesel.
