    Question High Pressure Fuel Pump Replacement V6

    I've just had mine done under warranty Diesel Dog has told me its a common problem with facelift vectras (see link)

    I've browsed this forum and most issues appear to be after remapping the engine.

    Has any one else had to have their high pressure fuel pump replaced pre or post warranty and was the engine remapped or not?

    Only one that I know of, Mavericks old signum had it replaced. It went tits up right after a remap.
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Yep, definitely user name "Maverick"'s one went - and it was remapped I think I read.
    There are quite a few others I remember, also check posts by "VectraV6CDTI" & "willc01" - that one was an absolute nightmare if I remember correctly!

    Had a 'fuel suction kit' replaced on mine but not sure if that includes the pump or not I've asked for a print out of all warranty work done so when I get that I'll hopefully be able to post up and clarify.

    I've mentioned it before, if you have a 3.0 V6 CDTI then it is best not to perform any type of engine enhancement
    A remap might cost you £200, save you £500 in fuel, but eventually the fuel pump will fail prematurely and cost you vastly more than what you have saved, as well as you probably having to remap back to default

    Does anyone know if the replacement pumps have been modified to reduce the failure rate or are they still fitting the same type regardless?
