Why not go to a breakers, get a parcel shelf, in halfords they sell 6x9 spacers, use them as a template(from underneath so you dont get pen marks on the top!) and cut the holes yourself, if you go to a material shop they may be able to find the same material on the shelf, use some spray on material adhesive to cover the top, done deal! i did this for a friend when the corsa c was new and there wasnt a stelth shelf available

I've done that before except instead of spacers I put a complete section of wood underneath sprayed black, to reenforce it. Trouble is recovering the shelf can be hard and the C looks to be particulary hard to recover.

Ive been after a stealth shelf for a vectra c but no luck, you can get an acoustic shop to modify the shelf you already have for £65..

I might just modify it myself. Wouldnt the 6x9's be to heavy to just simply cut the holes in the existing shelf and attach them? and if you reinforce it with some MDF, how would this be attached to the existing shelf?

    any help would be appreciated!

yeh i suppose i could screw it, does that mean that the shelf rests on top of the mdf? and that the mdf holds the 6 * 9's and the shelf itself has holes in it, if that makes any sence!

You cut the holes from the templates and drop the speakers in. There will be a lip on the speaker with the holes to put the screws in. Then all you have to do is fit the mesh and all looks good. On the stock shelf the bass will be more boomy. But the tightness and quality of sound really comes from a proper shelf.
