    Default Accident today

Front end of my Siggie smashed up today after another driver drove across me from my left on a mini roundabout. I am ok but she was taken to hospital, am still waiting to hear from the traffic police who attended the scene. Am insured with Directline and I have to say am impressed with them so far. Within 5 minutes of registering a claim I had a call from their hire car company to arrange my courtesy car whilst the Siggie gets repaired!!! Haven't even got it booked in for an estimate yet.

Sorry to hear about the car, but good news that Direct Line are on the ball. I'm with them and I couldn't fault them when I've had to claim in the past.

Your poor car and that poor woman, hope both make a very good recovery - and fast if D/Line are dealing with it by the sounds of things.

Nevermind you should get it back minus any stonechips you did have??? Although it just never seams the same as it did before once it's had a prang.

    Hope it turns out well.

Same here, put a no fault claim through about 5 months ago and everything went very smoothly and things got resolved quickly.

Glad to here you are OK.

Thanx for all of your replies, thats what I like about these forums:- lots of support. Mine looks nothing like as bad as Karls, but you never know until they get the bumper off to see behind do you. Will post a photo tommorrow when its light again!!

Am beginning to question myself as to whether it was my fault, although I always thought traffice entering a roundabout from a drivers right has the right of way?

Police said that it looks cut and dried to them but still cant help worrying it will be turned round somehow (had a bad experience over 20 years ago where I thought I did nothing wrong but ended up in court, and I lost)

thing is - you are insured, and that's what it's there for. your initial feelings about liability were probably right, and doubts are creeping in because of the shock of it all. you may get serious blues over the next day or so, i know i have when i've had prangs over the years. maybe the car's a write off? so what? it's a collection of nuts and bolts, with the odd sheet of metal and plastic thrown in - you can get something different next, in a different colour. the other driver? well it's probably nothing, they'll cart you off in the meat wagon for a broken fingernail these days. it's just the hassle factor, the oh **** feeling. but it's only a bumped car, you've still got 2 arms/2 legs and are breathing.
    positive motivational lecture over.
