Default Interior to exterior negative switched lighting

    Hi people,

Going to fit a rear interior light to my vec, but would also like to fit 4 blue LED exterior lights that run the length of the side skirt underneath. Id like these blue lights, which are made of clusters of 5 blue LED's 4 in a row (parallel) to only switch on automatically when you open / unlock the doors to light the ground at my feet and look cool (my opinion). I know I can use the switched negative that runs up to the front interior light but my questions is (at last I hear you cry)

Is there an easier place to take the positive and switched negative from, apart from the interior light?

Also thinking of wiring in 4 more on a switch inside the car, either sunk into the headlining and/or the foot wells, the switch would be there to allow me to chose between having the standard interior or blue leds come on individually or together when opening / unlocking the door.

    So my second question is,

Would it be ok to take the power for these LED's inside from the positive to the front interior light? Has anybody tried anything similar?

Your input and ideas are appreciated.

You can take the power from the rear number plate light, that turns on when you unlock all doors but will keep them on when your lights are on, your best bet is the interior light. if your going to wire it up to come on when you unlock the car you can wire it directly from the bulbs

    thanks for that,

Does anyone know where the switched negative feeds back to in the fusebox, plus would it be best to take a positve feed straigh from the battery or would the positive at the interior lights end handle the extra lights???

It depends how your wiring it up, if your using a switch that requires on, off and remote then wire the pos and neg to the battery and the remote to the interior light, if its simply pos and neg then wire direct to the light
