There's a good chance it's due to this. Give the hose a really good inspection for any splits - which could be quite small and not noticeable.

Yeah i have had the same problem m8. (Not towing just in 5th gear over taking) I inspected the boost hoses - no splits. So i cleaned the boost sensor which made it ok for a bit (few weeks) then it came back so i decided to remove the egr valve and remove the top off the inlet section the boost sensor plugs into. Both were jammed with carbon so even though the boost sensor was clean the area it was reading wasnt if you catch me. Anyways after a good clean out and refit (really easy job) (there is a how2 for the egr valve the other part is just 4 screws) its working fine no more limp home and boosts much better. Defo worth a shot. If you need any info on any of it let me know.

Buggy 66 if your still having problems check your vacuum actuators you 3 on a dti 2 on your bulkhead above your radiator and one by your maf sensor , also check your hoses are connected up correctly to them . i went through all the faults highlighted on this and the other thread and mine in the end was tied down to one of the actuators going faulty and the hoses connected up in reverse on the two actuators on the front

just took egr valve off and what a shock the egr was not too bad but the inlet manifold was gunked up to hell with carbon and the boost valve housing was bad too .just took it for a run and all seems fine a bit more responsive .but the trouble is only when towing so will have to see when i tow again .will check the vacuum actuators and see if i can find the piping diagram to make sure the pipes are on right ...will keep you informed
