The feature has to be installed in the car to be able to use the seat transponder. Were you asking if that can be retro-fitted? I'm not sure if it can and if it could you'd want to be 100% sure it was done correctly!

ok mate ta, from what i can gather from the sticker on the door piller i only needed the transponder to deactivate it.

Not too much of a problem if i cant get one seperate, just thought it could be clipped to seat belt or something. we all know what its like trying to pass a dummy to a child in the rear without taking eyes off the road, Impossible

Personally, I think VX should have a 'disable by key' feature, instead of by transponder, like a lot of other makes. Wish you luck.

I agree. On the new Corsa you can disable the passenger airbag with a button on the central dash. I never understood why they didn't do similar, or a key in the side of the dash, system on the Vectra C / Signum.

I too was expecting a method of turning off passanger airback when we were expecting our son.

Was disgusted to find out that your had to "buy" a VX baby seat to disable the front air bag.

To me it stank of VX grabbing more money.

Only if the baby seat has the transmitter in it i.e. has to be a Vx car seat and only if your car has the receiver part installed. That last bit you need to be 100% sure of as it wasn't a standard feature on every model/year.
