    Default alignmycar.co.uk

After reading other threads about how good http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/ was, I looked up my local centre and came up with Loudwater Tyres near High Wycombe.

So I popped in to enquire as to how much a full alignment check would be - £35.00 plus VAT was the answer.

I ask a few questions and they were deadly serious with their replies:

"You use the Hunter DSP600 machine dont you?"

"Er, do we. We got a machine that checks tracking and alignment, is that what it's called"

"And the price would include checking the camber angles?"

"Er, if that's what the price includes, we'll give it a go".

Now forgive me for been a bit hesitant but if this is the level of service at the front desk, god knows what it's like behind the scenes.

Had a peer through their up and over doors on the way out and saw nothing that resembled a Hunter machine as per the http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/ site.

Might just find another garage from the Align site and see if they're more clued up.

As the small print says on the bottom of the website- "www.AlignMyCar.co.uk provides information on all aspects of Wheel Alignment. It has been designed to meet the requiements of the general public and the motor vehicle industry. Please note that although we endorse the Hunter DSP600 Imaging System, we are not able to recommend alignment centres, only provide guidance on their locations".

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..............

    Vote with your feet.

I thought the Vectra was very fussy about tracking until I found out it was my steering rack.

Going to ATS tomorrow, only been opened a month so the equipment shouldn't be nackered. Free laser check and print out and then £20-30 if it needs adjustments.

Before the new tyres went on, the steering wheel was slightly off centre to the left and now, with new tyres on, it's off centre to the right. Hopefully ATS will sort this out

My local ATS won't touch rear camber angles - they even said it wasnt adjustable eben though its clearly fitted with adjustable bolts!!

Looks more like a sales persons or database website and has probably been built up from a list of previous sales of such equipment, cold calls to find out if agents have such equipment, and incoming calls to have a garage listed

You would be better off simply grabbing the Yellow Pages and spending half an hour phoning around local agents, asking if they have equipment for doing a full four wheel alignment, what they would charge for checking and adjustment, and how old the equipment is
