    Default Mp3 (Again)

Im in desperate need of playing mp3's in my vectra. Its a 54 plate design witht the CDC40 Opera. I know I cant put mp3 discs in and play them and can think of 2 options.
1 is a fm transmitter and a mp3 player but sound quality etc
Or 2 Would it be possible to fit a CDC40 from a 07 on which has MP3 playback as standard?

Or an FM modulator. This is better than an FM transmitter in that it pushes out an FM RF signal but directly into the aerial input. So you still tune the radio to the frequency (and you can select a quiet one) but it is not actually transmitted. Not completely interference-free but almost. There are many available, most mentioned is from Dension but you can DIY - for example: http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52950

There are others that use bluetooth, eg ioplay and new parrot devices. A search on here will turn up plenty of options.

To be totally honest I would buy a replacement head unit, or something like a parrot handsfree with Ipod connection.

The new headunit way is much better imho, and not as expensive as it sounds, plus has the added benefit of better sound.
