    Default Heater flap servo

I have a suspicion one of the teeth on the heater flap servo mechanism has broken, as there is a clicking noise when I turn off the "recirc" button. Where is this servo and gears, and what do I need to remove to get to them. Any help would be much appreciated.

Ste had to fix his Ed and started a thread on it - not sure if it included details of how to remove it etc. but maybe worth a search for his threads?

Found it - http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33018 - although no specific instructions on removal.

From what I make out it should be straight forward. Just remove the glove box and the sevo is held on to the heater with Two screws. Well that is the theory. In practice it is probably like key hole surgury, we will see, any information will be helpful.

I had that on my Signum.
If the thread/teeth have gone you need to fix it quick in this weather.
The recirc will not be able to make its mind up if its closed or open and will keep trying to go one way or another - even when the car is switched off!!
If you lock up the car and pop out now and again you may here the recirc click (clicking about 5 or 6 times per go - same sort of noise you get if you tap a pencil against a window in quick time) - and it just keeps on trying ....
    - which means its loading up the servo / motor and trying to open or close - result is battery drain!!
VX fixed mine under warranty - did a disconect of the power line and then it took a few days to get the spare - only took the mechanic 3 cups of coffee (me drinking it !!) to sort - all done form inside the car behind the passenger glove box.
    Hope this helps.

Cheers Small Racer. I have been in touch with my VX dealer in Tamworth and have ordered the "servo motor". He said they used to have to change about 3-4 a week, but have not done any for a long time, he thinks they might be making the gears out of a better plastic. ( so if you have a newer Vectra you might not get this problem). So it looks like I will be having a go at it when I get the chance. Fingers crossed it is an easy job. Will keep you informed.
