Hi guys I'm a Noobie!

Well, I just had a test drive of a Vectra C GSI today and fell in love, so bought it. Its an 03 plate with 42,000 miles in blue and i paid just £2750 so I reckon I got a good deal!

Only thing that worries me is the car was last serviced at 33k, so is due a service by my reckoning. I can do the oil, plugs and filter myself but I now realise I need to get the timing belt done too.

I have done my own before on my old Astra 16v but I ain't touching this one, it looks quite complicated.
Any ideas on how much I am looking at for belt / tensioner / water pump at an independent garage?

Garage, but it is a close mate of mine, he paid just 2k for it (had it up on forecourt for 3995)- Talk about crazy! I think it was about 20 grand new.

Any ideas on cambelt price? its the 3.2 from what I can remember.

Have come from a chipped golf GTI turbo, feels kinda wierd as there is no push in the seat that you get when the turbo starts boosting, just a constant acceleraltion once you hit 2500-3000rpm Certainly impressed though

Have you thought of putting in to Vx for the service and a check over?? Mate or not there is a steriotype for a reason.

welcome to the site mate..I had major major service, cambelt and a few bulbs for £530 at vx..think they quoted about 350 for cambelt/tensioner fitted which seems ok to me.
