anyone on here removed the dpf off their vectra cdti? the reason why im asking is my vectra is using a bit more fuel than it should so im thinking the dpf is at fault,my local vauxhall dealer keeps a non dpf cat in stock but it is about £357 plus vat,im getting fed up with 31 mpg out of a diesel in urban traveling

Before you go spending all that money. Get the dealer or somebody with a Tec2 to do a burn/regeneration on the DPF. And see if that helps.
I'm not sure how you drive but it's best to give it a hammering every now and again this helps with the regeneration.
I don't think you can remove the DPF without causing all sort's of issue's. Not 100% but I'm sure somebody will confirm this.

    Question

can't remember who but some has. I think they removed it without removing it and shorting across by tricking the car to think it was still there and did someting with tech2. How much more fuel is it using than you'd expect? Is it the 1.9 with the updated DPF software you have that runs permantly?

The last time my Signum was at the dealer's they said their was a recall for the DPF. But i never tuck it back in.
When i fitted the quad's i got a guy to do a regeneration on the DPF while he was doing someother work.
I'd speak to them and see if the recall is just the software update.

There is apost somwhere that describes it in great detail. I think it regens every 30 seconds on the 1.9. They re-wrote my software in Japan when I had all the unitentified problems with it and it regen's now when it gets to 9%. Think it became the last software update for all V6's nationally.
