Default Wanted - Vectra-C Hit Squad in Reading...

    Guys

Some of you may remember a month or so ago I posted a thread about an e-bay item/seller I was slightly suspicious about - Had no feedback, wanted payment by cheque, and sent a rather dodgy e-mail after I'd won the item...

Hi thanks for bidding and winning, i accept the following payments, cash, cheque, bankers drafts, postal orders, my chesham address is my old address my new address is 31 bath road,calcot,reading,berkshire,rg317qh
please make all payments and letters addressed to mark ciappi as hes my step brother and they are his items,i will be dealing with posting the items out though as its my account ,oh and please can you put your name and address inside the enbelope as it makes things a bitter easier for me thanks, collection is welcome just send me an email and we can sought a day/time out to suit thanks again.
send cash(must be recorded)/ cheque/postal order/bankers draft to please note cheques will take 5 days to clear as its a basic account

Now, everything told me this was dodgy, so I decided to wait to see what would happen with all the other items he'd sold on the same day, all from an Astra VXR he was breaking. Again, I had a gut feeling something wasn't right, but I really wanted the airbag/steering wheel, and after a few days the feedback started rolling in, and up till yesterday was at 6 positive. However, anythign he actually had to post out would now appear to have probably not existed to start with, as all the items he has recieved positive feedback for were pick-up only. There are now 4 of us who have all left negative feedback as payment was taken but no item arrived, and no contact has since been made and no reply to e-mails. Ebay have been informed by all of us, but I've no idea what they can do.

It's taught me several lessons I thought I already knew, I just had the blinkers fitted as I wanted the item so much... Lessons learned, I won't be making those mistakes again.

So, anyone in Reading fancy giving the bloke some abuse...?

I seem to remember a few people offering to go round to collect the item? Did you not take them up on the offer or was the address bull too?

Yeah someone did, but when he started getting positive feedback I decided it wasn't necessary... More fool me...

I think a note through the door late at night asking for the bits from an annomous person might scare him into doing something. After all, the last thing he would expect was someone turning up at his house.....

The only reason I can't do anything myself as because I'm in the North of Scotland, otherwise I'd be round there in person demanding either the VXR steering wheel and airbag, or £215...
