    Default AA breakdown assistance

I've just received a letter from the AA explaining that my 3 years cover that comes with all new Vauxhall cars is due to expire in January 09. They are offering me a 75% discount if i renew my cover before the above date. I assume they'll be offering this deal to everyone in my position but heres an idea of what they are offering.

The prices are for single cover (the wifes car still has a years cover left) which are available as Personal or Vehicle cover: Roadside - £12.63. Roadside + Stay mobile - £21.63
    Roadside + Relay - £27.38. Roadside + Home Start £ 28.13.
    Roadside + Relay + Stay Mobile - £33.38. Roadside+Relay+Home start £36.13
    Roadside+Homestart+Stay Mobile-£37.13.
    Roadside+Relay+Home Start+Stay Mobile £45.13. This normally costs £180.50.
It looks like a great deal what do you's think?

I'm sure VX dont give 3 yrs breakdown cover now, just the 1st 12months.

Mine was first registered on Nov 1st 2006 ,and I recall asking the dealer about this because I thought it was 3 yrs too, but it seems they changed it to just 1 yr a few months before I bought mine. If I'm wrong then I've been paying the RAC £120 for nothing...lol

Regarding the deal, sounds good to me.

you do get 3 years breakdown cover from vauxhall so long as you get your car serviced in a vauxhall dealer.

My car only goes into main VX dealer for its servicing, I was definately told by Moorland Motors Ltd a main VX dealer in Blackpool where I bought the car from that it no longer applied, and only get first 12months Vauxhall Assist breakdown. no 2nd or 3rd yr.

I need to check on this... sounds like I've been ripped off again.

Do you have to get the dealer to arrange it or what... I give up

Just had a look on VX site and it does confirm what you say, doesn't explain exactly how you get it. jeeeez I made a big fuss about this when I bought the car new and Moorland Motors were bl**dy adamant that VX had stopped it. I'm absolutely livid on learning this... and I was right in the first place.

I've been paying the RAC £120 from the start of year two. I feel a right plonker, and I feel I've been ripped off. In fact I only just paid for the 3rd year on November 1st.... Sh*t.

Dont get old matey.... its terrible when the brain goes.
