    Default Rear wheel bearing

My vectra booked in at the dealers next thursday.
off side rear bearing is on its way out. It starts to drone at about 35mph
The car has only done 16k on 54 plate.
Has anyone else experienced this problem or am I just unlucky?

tyre esp. rears can create droning noise. Different road surfaces will make matters worse or better, this often shows its the tyres. The head mechanic tested mine and talked about rear tyre noise.

Its not always as bad as it seems.

I'll be damned! Driving up to Formby today I was thinking exactly the same thing. Droning from the rear of the car (the missus was at home!) that sounded just like a bearing on the way out!
Only another 4k 'till the next service so it can wait. (34k on the clock BTW)

    Hi Guys
I think you'll find its the rear tyres...because of the rear camber set up
on the vec-c's it causes uneven tyre wear..
If you swop the tyres front to rear you will find the noise stops.
but then its noisey at the front.
Bridgestones are bad for it because they are a fairly hard compound.

My O/S rear wheelbearing started droning after 20k, seems a bit too common to be coincidence?

I have had both rear bearings replaced in the last four weeks!!!
It didnt solve the the droning noise..
The only thing that resolved it was by swopping the tyres round.
    front to rear.
try it...it will solve your problems.
