Oasis were fantastic in Manchester a few years ago but the best one I've been to was INXS at the MEN. Totally unexpected as they were on with Blondie who the missus wanted to see. and the main reason we were there.

    Boy could they play.

Non music: Derrin Brown. Total cynic here had jaw on the floor at the suggestion stuff.

Genesis 1992 in Roundhay Park Leeds sticks in my mind, but most of all "The Jam"..1979 at rock city Nottingham./great ..great band from that era,and as we all know Paul Weller still doing the biz to this day.

    Oooh, good thread! lol

Toss up between Jean-Michel Jarre at London Docklands (titled Destination Docklands) back in 1988 and U2 at Wembley in 1993 on the ZooTV tour

Oh, also Live 8 at Murrayfield Stadium, Edinburgh in 2005.

Saw Paul Weller for the umpteenth time at the weekend at Trent FM Arena in Nottingham. The man is a god!

Best band I seen would have to be the Jam at the "Micheal Sobell Centre-Islington with Bananarama supporting!
Lois Griffin: Peter! You're bribing your daughter with a car?
Peter Griffin: Ah, c'mon, Lois, isn't 'bribe' just another word for 'love'?

Funny that - an earlier Genesis gig in 86 in Roundhay sticks in my mind (Invisible Touch tour) - somebody chucked a bottle at Paul Young, and we had to listen to him direct the security guys over the PA ("Get him out - I don't care if he wants his money back, I want him out" etc). Then there was over an hour between PY and G whilst some sparks checked every single bleeding light on stage for the finale, like some fiendish set of Christmas lights with one loose one messing it up, then the main act came on whereupon most of the folk around us started to moan on about how they didn't play any of the older Peter Gabriel-era stuff. Bizarre, but the light show was excellent.

Listening to Robbie Williams at Roundhay wasn't bad - I live so close that I had a pass to get home through all the various closed roads.

Then the next would be Bon Jovi playing Huddersfield - can't remember the year, but the show was good and, thanks to knowing where to park locally, we got away quickly and were home before midnight - unlike the hundreds of coaches. Funny what sticks in the memory - JBJ announcing "it's great to be here in ... [checks off-mic with Ritchie 'WTF is this place called?'] ... Huddersfield ..." - you could almost hear him groan after saying that.
