Yep, 20s will fit no problem and I don't think any arch adjustments etc. are even needed. Ian C has 20s and I think they went straight on.

Doesn't it also depend on the rim width? That's why Vxl talk about some of the Irmscher 20" rims needing arch work (not all though) - they'll add a couple of feet to the turning circle as well, compared to <18" as (and may suffer inner arch fouling as well as the visible wing). It's the limit, so is best to check carefully, especially if you've gone for a 45+mm drop.

Dubs are an option on Insignia though - they seem to have gone up an inch or so across the range; SRi rides on 18" std, with 20" optional compared to 19" optional on Vec - just looking at the factory speccable stuff, like on Plus packs etc.

Yep, exactly - I was going to say that in my reply but just kept it simplified.

Yes, the specific wheel will dictate whether any arch work will be needed. The Irmscher ones Ian has I believe fitted straight on while others may need work due to offset and/or rim width.

Oh hell, there I go complexing things up again!

I guess the right tyres would be something like 245/30R20, for which everyone's favourite Falkens (452) are about £150 each - not too bad, all things considered. Add a ton for Michelins, or £80 for Contis and things get less to the liking of a budget-conscious driver
