Type of Headlamps in Vectra C

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this club, just bought a vectra (after puuting up with a 1.3 CDTI Corsa for some time) and need some help. I've got these headlamps which look like they're the same as the ones on top end model corsa c's. ie standard ones which have what looks like a magnifying glass over them. What i want to know is (and please forgive my ignorance here, i will get better with time!) are there just standard bulbs behind these that i can change (for phillips extreme) or are they likely to shoot 23,000 volts up me because they're xenons? Any help would be appreiciated.

More than likely they're just standard bulbs mate, unless you have headlamp washers ih which case they might be xenons...

All the Vectra headlights have the elipsoidal design...

The dome you can see is just the lense, it is like a projector. Thats why it looks like a magnifying glass.

welcome to the world of the vectras crappy headlights.best tip for you is to just bin the normal or boy racer style bulbs as what ever normal bulbs you fit you still wont be able to see at night,go for a hid kit and put an end to the problems before they start,standard veccy headlights suck!

Thanks a lot gents, yes i did get the impression that the lights could be a bit iffy no matter what i put in. And also thanks for the info, the word 'elipsoidal' will impress my mates down the pub!!!!
