    Default 120 or 150 insurance help

    hi
    ive just purchased a 54 vectra life 1.9 16v cdti and was told it was a 150bhp
    i phoned my insurance and they asked me if it was a 120 or 150
    after further research on an astra forum i understand there were 2 variations of the 1.9 16v z19dth engine being the 120 just had a different ecu map from the 150
    is there any definate way of telling if its infact a 150bhp car
    thanks

    found this in that post by vectrav6cdti
    One other thing, I know with the VXR's the power output in KW is on a plate on the B pillar (as VXR's have both 255ps and 280ps output engines). Not sure if the 1.9's have the same? I expect so. 120's will be around 89KW and 150's will be around 111KW.
    my log book says the max net power (kw) is 110 so that may mean its a 150
    thanks for the replies

    The V5 should have the information you need.
    8V =120
    16v = 150
    Bit of a difference with insurance premiums !

    That engine never made it into the Vec. The vec has 2 different engines, 120bhp=8v 150bhp=16v. The way to tell as as per the door pillar info sticker or the oil cap position
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!
