Haven't seen anything relating to air con removal on the forum so thought i would ask
Total weight of the system?
What's involved exactly?
Estimation on cost of removal?
*Car is a 54 1.9CDTi 150 model
Thanks

What is your rationale for removing the AC system?
Never used it and never will (including when de-misting). Keeping the car for a good while longer and due to the styling choices and modifications, the next buyer likely won't be at all bothered about the removal of it. Figured it would be best just to remove it to shed a few pounds.
Strange request that one BUT as we always say on here...to each his own.
..you cannot remove the heat exchanger in the dash due to the design of the heater box .(plus it is a massive job) you cant loose the air con pump due to the runn of the altonator belt .(you maybe able to use a smaller blet but unshure)...the only things you can loose are the pipes and for the weight they will; save you you could just remove the trim for the boot area and the spare wheel and save the same ...plus you would still have the air con for the summer seems pointless to me ..but each to there own and all...
It was the rad and the pump i was most curious about benny, so yer won't bother
Your profile says 54-reg car - chances are that someone buying a 4 or 5 yr old car certainly would expect it to have working A/C, and if they found it didn't work when they viewed the car you'd have to use the age-old excuse "I think it just needs a regas..." even if in reality it needed several major components replacing.
What's the plan on the removal matey????? You turning it into a racer or something?
