Anybody fancy doing them for me? I'd have a go but the big 32mm nut is, by all accounts, a real pain to undo.

I have not been under the bonnet of a car for about 10-15 years, i had a droning noise and i assumed it was a wheel bearing, (noise only happened over 70 mph) so i set about to change them both as i could not figure what side it was , very easy, had both done in under 3 hrs

Flipping noise was still there though !!!!

This is my fear. If it's not the wheel bearings, what would it be?

What did yours turn out to be?

Has often been tyres rather than wheel bearings on Vec-Cs and Signums, but that's usually on the rear. Check the front tyres carefully though anyway, for any sign of extra wear on the inside edge or uneven wear.
