Facelift Steering Wheel

I want one of the facelift wheels mainly for the thumb grooves on the side lol. Just wondering if its possible to gut it to just the outer shell and fit my prefacelift insides, airbag and steering controls?

Thanks Glen but its the airbag im worried about lol. I cant use my steering controls and will look to blank them but want to make sure the airbag works. are the plugs different or can i just snip them and connect the correct plug?

That what bigron has done with the airbag mate,he cut the old one and connected the new one,i'd pm him and make sure before doing so though............
