I can see a load of difference of opinions coming up on this one wardy! Its been discussed many times and that's just whilst i've been a member on here and that's not very long! I have a 05 ('55) facelift 3.0CDti and if i'm not mistaken Vauxhall qoute 100k on this particular engine/year. As i say though a lot of people will beg to differ on that figure. Not much help to you i know mate, sorry!
My 05MY, registered 01 June 2005, is on ECO Flex servicing
Services are every 2 years or 30K miles
My car didn't come with a service book, and noone has been able to source the correct one for the Y30DT engine for me
Dealership advises me that cambelt is due on the fourth service, at 8 years / 120K miles
Even though I am mileage lead on this service schedule, I am finding the service intervals are nearer 22K miles, and at present my fourth service will be due at around 90K miles
The hand book states 100k or 10 years unless the dealerships have revised this. So its up to you. Costs around £400 too.
That doesn't match the service schedule, seems strange to book the car in at it's third service 90K miles
However, the fourth service 120K miles could be earlier than that
Then booking the car in at 100K miles specifically for a cambelt change
That's one of the reasons I have been trying to get an original service book
what about a petrol 3.2 V6, just bought one on 37k was expecting to have to change at 40k,
Big Sig is right - it says the same in my service manual. The reason for that is that on the ECO Service schedule service operations it doesn't specifically list the Y30DT engine - however it does on the ECOFlex service schedule.
And that's why you've thought there is a mismatch. On the ECOFlex schedule the max mileage interval for diesels is not the straightforward 30,000 miles like it is on the ECOService. 1st service is at 35,000, 2nd at 65,000, 3rd at 100,000 therefore matching the cambelt schedule on mileage, 4th at 135,00 and fifth at 165,000 - or obviously at 2 year intervals if that occurs first. They're telling you porky pies! As above, it's 10 years/100,000 miles.
You really shouldn't be quoting all those incorrect figures from what you 'think' - when you've even said you don't even have your own service schedule manual!! What if people don't come along and correct you over it, like I have, and go off thinking what you've said is correct? You've just told somebody that the schedule for their belt change is 120,000 miles when it's 100,00 - 20,000 miles out!!!
As you well know, it's not the first time that you've been corrected over giving out wildly incorrect information - others have corrected you too. Please, please don't give out figures like that if you haven't researched them/know them for sure! You're dealing with people's engines and cars here!!
Wardy, if it was my car I'd be looking to get it changed not much past 60,000. If a belt goes on that engine, being a V6, it's gonna be nasty!
KevinG - schedule states 8 years/80,000 for your engine. Again, if it was mine I wouldn't be leaving it until then - and I know a certain 3.2 owner (and Moderator) would be saying the same.
