Halfauds my a***
Only read this if you have ten minutes, as its got to be long to get the story over. But it goes like this!
I Phoned Halfauds to get a price for hard wiring my phone to the stereo speakers etc was quoted at £69 special deal.
KC:have you done this model of car before (2.2 face lifted Veccy)
Halfrauds:yes sir no problem, but you need to come in and let us see the car and pay for the parts.
Me: dont you know what a new veccy looks like and can't I pay by switch like the rest of the world!
Halfrauds: no sir just come in.
Me: travelled all the way into Edinburgh from West lothian. about 24 miles No one about. waited for 15 minutes before some one came. said I am here to pay for the parts etc. Payed for the parts and went home.
Two days later got a call from Halfrauds that my parts were in. agreed that I can come in the next day, but would need to take a half day off to do so.
Arrived at Halfrauds and their "expert" was not in. I was asked "who said to come in today sir" as he is off on holiday. But if you want I dont usualy do this but I can "have a go at fitting it.
I asked how many new veccies he had fitted phones to and he said none but they must be similar to the one he had done!! what a flipping moped.
Me I said I will come back when the expert is back at work,
Halfrauds: phoned me. and asked me to come back in again, so I went back the next day to find out again that they then did not have the correct parts.
Off I went back home again with a promise that the correct parts will be in within a couple of days and for my trouble, they would have a third party company fit it at as they were not too sure how to do it. Remember they have had my money for a couple of weeks.
Halfrauds phoned me sir all the parts are in, come in and pick them up so you can give them to the third party company to fit at my place of work.
I went back in again to pick up the "correct parts" and as I was checking the parts that was given (more like thrown at) to me I noticed that one part had BMW M3 written on it and the other part had vauxhall frontera. I asked if Jeremy Beadle was about. Why said the "sales man of the year"?
ME: because you have given me onee part for a Fricken BMW!! and another for frontera that is no longer made.
Halfrauds: Is it not a BMW you have sir!!!!! I will not repeat what I said, other than I asked for the manager who was.....yes you guessed it not available. but the deputy dawg was. So I spoke to him and asked for my money back and he could not understand why I was asking for it back.
Any how I asked for compensation as I had wasted a lot of time and money on the sad episod of my valuable short time I have on this planet and he gave me a ten pound gift voucher and said "thats all your going to get mate"
Well I wrote to Halfrauds HQ and I never got a reply from them, other than a phone message from the above missing manager (remember him) who said he has heard of my little problem and as I had got my money back and also a Halfrauds gift voucer for my pains, he considered the matter closed.
Well I flicken don't think so boyo, and I will never set foot or is that feet into their shops again.
Sorry for the legth of my rambling but what does it take to get some decent service nowadays?are they always as bad as this??
