Vectra 2.2 Direct SRI power loss

Hi Guys,
I have a 54 plate vectra 2.2 SRI direct (petrol), and when i joined the motorway coming home from work last night it started juddering quite badly, and slowed right down to about 20mph. I got onto the hard shoulder and it didnt want to pick up the revs, and seemed to be misfiring badly. Then the engine management light appeared.
I switched it off, then started it up again straight away, it was fine - i drove it home no problem whatsoever but the management light stayed on. Went out again this morning and there still seems to be no problem with it, but the management light is still on....

I did notice a couple of weeks ago that it juddered very briefly on the motorway but cured itself, and no lights came on, so i presume that it is related to the current fault.

Anybody any ideas what this could be? I rely on the car to get me to work on a 20 mile motorway journey each day, and am paranoid about this happening again...

hello mine did that and it was the coil pack breaking down get some one to code read it for you and it will confirm the problem.

Hi mate. Sounds like the coil pack.

I had the same thing happen to me but it was a cracked plug. If you find it's the coil pack i have a spare i could sell you

sounds good to me....
if it is the coil pack, how much do u want for it?

I will have a look tomorrow first thing - getting a little dark now lol..

Any tips on switching off the management light?
