Thought about this when the news started on about high prices and fuel thefts. Advice was to use a locking cap, even if you have a 'lockable' flap as they are usually only secured by plastic.
Anyone tried one/got one etc?

when you lock the car your flap does lock, I know it can be ripped off, but.....
Yes, I have. The locking flap is next to useless to anyone willing to cause some damage, and the locking cap has the advantage that if the car is stolen, it's that much more difficult to refuel it hence more likely to get abandoned when the fuel runs out.
never really thought of that, lol
if someone wants your fuel they dont go via the fuel cap, they cut one of the pipes under the car, vauxhalls have an anti syphoning fuel neck so thats why going through the fuel filler is a waste of time
Jolly good - the other question I forgot to add is what make, from where etc - and are they a standard size?
You can search my house all night while I'm tucked up in bed, there will be no car keys to be found...they're in a hidden key safe. Anyone who leaves their car keys on a table in the hallway is a bit naive.
As for the locking fuel cap, they're not one-size-fits-all...there are a few different sizes that between them cover the maority of cars available - Halfords sell them and will be able to advise which one fits the Vec-C.
Round here, if your car is worth taking, they come in, beat your s**t out until you give them the keys. Key safe or not, your car goes, and you end up in hospital or worse.
