    Default What shocks for SXi?

Hi, i've been told that my '04 vectra c cdti 150 sxi has stiffer suspension than other models, i'm looking at replacing the rear shocks so can anyone advise what model of Bilstein (OR OTHER MAKE) is best suited? The website says B4's for standard damping and B6's for sportier damping. I'm not looking for a bone jarring ride just 'taught' i.e. comfy with a sporty feel, if that makes sense.

    Jim.

The early SXi's did have normal suspension. I had a 04 plate SXi and it had sports suspension. You know you have sports suspension if you have the SRi body kit fitted as standard. They started to fit the sports suspension the same time as they started to fit the SRi kit. The early ones looked like the Elegance.

Bilstein B4's are a straight swap if you've sports suspension, which you should have on an '04' plate. And they are so much better than the standard-fit $hite.

Thanks for the replies, i was kind of leaning towards the B4's so thats probably what i'll go for. Incidentally, how would i tell if i have an early (softer) or later (sportier) one?

If you get seasick, you've got the normal suspension. If you feel as if you've hit a wall with every bump, then you've got the sport suspension.

As I said above, have your got the SRi body kit fitted? Any pics of your car?

I have a SXi Estate 2005. I thought all Sxi models had "SRi" Sports suspension. SRi seats but std 16" alloys/215-55-16 tyres

I was thinking of going for Bilstein B4's & a Eibach pro set for my SRI as its done over 65k on the factory set, would this be a worth while upgrade ?

I take it B6's are much better than 4's too ?

Been quoted about £100 to fit them, ok ?

Nope, but I think all SXi's had sports seats.

This is the old SXi that was fitted with standard suspension...

This is the newer SXi (after Mar 2004) with sports suspension as standard, SRi body kit and "Club" wheels...

    Default pics

Hopefully i've attached a couple of pics of my car, it looks like i have the later one with sports suspension, I looked on one of the sites selling B4 shocks (i can't find it again) which listed two types of B4 shock, a standard one and a firmer one. Anyone know about this?

    Jim.
