My Trip - Fuel Economy

So Tuesday afternoon i headed to scotland from Farnborough, topped up the car with unleaded , I have a 2.2 Direct SRI 06 plate

Had the car 1 month so this would have been the first long drive up there with it, my previous car did the trip using 3/4 tank (2.0 DTI)

415 Miles in total, motorway driving all the way, hit a few average speed cams areas, cruised most of the way at 80 mph, didnt go over it at all

So sat nav set, fuel computer watched, comparing the 2 the closer i got to scotland, stopped twice i think for a coffee and a nature call, took me 6.15 hrs in total

So arrived at 18:17 with (according to the comp) 70 miles still in the tank

To my reconing i would say that was effing great !!!

I got about 450 to a tank once and that was 4 up with luggage. Who needs a dirty fueled car.

On a long run they are economical for a big petrol engine. Unfortunatley we haven't been doing many long runs lately and ours is av 27.9 around town!!

My average is coming down as I haven't done any long trips for a while. I don't want to look.

Yeah mate that is great i have normally got 460 a tank around that figure

on a longer trip i am impressed with mine, around town i always gets 29.8mpg which isnt bad really
