    Default New tyres (Avon ZV5)

4 tyres fitted today, went for the Avon ZV5, anyone had them?

Put on 2 Federal SS595 tyres on front 20k ago, they did well, i think they were a bit noisy though, but were great value, and the NCTs on the back did 40k.

Seem very quiet compared to before, not had a chance to try them in the wet yet, but seem great in the dry.

Will see what i can get out of them

I had been looking at them, and heard good reviews on the Avons, but the cheapest i could find them was about £115 each fitted. Wasnt paying that, was looking for something else.

Local place had them at £70 each fitted! He said the price was not right but was on the screen.

    Happy enough with that!

Look very similar to my Bridgestone ER300 - very similar tread. They were £195 for the pair fitted from Modern Tyres in Antrim.

    Where did you get yours?

IIRC, Cooper Tires (the American brand/company that own Avon) are cheaper than Avons for exactly the same tyre.

I didn't think Avons were very favoured by forum members?

I have these on the front, they are very grippy in both wet and dry conditions and i think around 20K is about right for these (depending on type of driving of course), will definatley buy them again

I noticed they were the ZV5's and not ZV3 which most are more conversant. I dont think those were out when I was looking a few months ago.

As 'ZS' said they do indeed look very similiar to the Bridgestone ER300 tread pattern.
