    Default Xbox new dashboard

Turned on the Xbox a short while ago while I was having a coffee to see if the new dashboard was available - and it was. So after about 10 minutes it was all downloaded and installed so time for a peek.

Gotta say I really like it. The previous dashboard was slick, especially after the last little update, but this new one is very nice indeed. I'm loving the feature to cache a game to the hard disk to make loading quicker and the box quieter with less accessing of the DVD drive. I think I may have to get a larger HDD or upgrade the console - the new 60Gb console or an Elite may beckon!

BTW Pete - PMSL at your Xbox avatar!

It's the interface you see when you're on the xBox - let's you access all the features available.

    This will explain.

Put the disc in and in the My Xbox screen with the game panel showing press on Y (options) and you get the option to install to the hard disc. Obviously you'll need the relevant amount of free space on the drive.

Ooh can't wait - I normally use the X-Box as a media player but have been playing fable II nearly every day for the last couple of weeks.

Hopefully I will be able to cache some of the game as the disc spinning sound drives me mad.

Lol... Cheers D, Had quite a few people pm me about my avatar... i think the avatars are kool... lots of laughs to be had with them.. I changed his colour earlier, he's now a native Jamaican raster..

Just like you said Duncan, the function to store a game on the HD is brilliant, seems quite weird playing a game with no disc noise.. Like it a lot..
