Default Free McAfee Security for 12 months

For any HSBC customers who use the online services. Click on the security tab on the left once you're logged in and it'll download it all for you- might take a while- about 10 mins on 20meg broadband!

    Saves £50 though

McAfee came as a pre-loaded trial on the HP office desktop I got recently, and I hated it. I soon restored the system and chose the option not to have the trial installed and loaded up Kaspersky that I'd converted to from Norton at the same time as I got the HP workstation - and Norton is even worse than McAfee for slowing down/hogging resources! lol Kaspersky is much lighter on resources and just better all round - definitely worth paying for.

Saying that, if somebody is running without any AV 'cos they don't want to pay for it then a free McAfee is better than nothing! Barclays were/are doing the same thing but with Kaspersky.

i had mcafee installed on me laptop when i got it, soon as i booted it up the first thing i did was take it off
i hate mcafee and nortons, both are bloated and not that effective, my sister in law had nortons on her desktop and it got 2 viruses that screwed it up
dont see why we should pay for anti virus software when there are more effective free programs available
