    Default Car insurance renewal!

Well had my insurance renewal through, first time have had to insure the veccy for a year as just paid a little extra to change cars when I bought the Veccy earlier this year. Came through from Admiral at £385 fully comp with protected no claims. In Wifes name, she is 29 clean license and no accidents and 9 years no claims. Me as named driver, 27 with CD10 and 4 points and one at fault accident. Did a bit of shopping round and got it for £280 from Diamond. Phoned Admiral with quote ref and they matched price as they said Elephant, Bell, Admiral and Diamond are all the same group and so they all price match to save people jumping between them each year. Am very happy, seems like a bargain!!! Just thought I would share that lol!!! Oh and when doing quotes on Diamonds website it was £250 until I said I have kids then went up to the £280, pesky kids cost me a fortune lol!!!!

it is if you want to protect your ncb, they would not do this despite my accident happened on a motorcycle and i had an otherwise unblemished record, they would only offer 4 years ncb,i had an argument with them and on of my last words with then was "what you mean is then i should have gone through the red light so i would not get hit in the rear?" the lady on the phone said no so i replied "well your company says i should have" she did not answer and i put the phone down

Apologies for digging up this old fossil, there's nothing like a bit of recycling!

My renewal came through, up from £460 to £560
    Did the usual searching around
Sadly I was pretty much unable to match the renewal, on the same nil excess
I then noticed that the current insurer, KwikFit underwritten by BRIT, had added two optional extras which weren't on the current policy
I challenged that to obtain a like-for-like-renewal and they reissued a renewal for £530, hardly worth the effort

I did manage to find a quote from quotelinedirect for Chaucers, at £420 but that was on a £150 excess and no legal cover

I then let the current policy expire
Went back in to Kwik Fit and applied for a new policy
It came back with the same price as just now, £460
So I "saved" a further £70 simply by waiting until the policy had expired

Three other quotes had also increased, by between £0.01 and £300.00
I sometimes wonder if they just pull them out of hat!

Got my renewal in from elephant.co.uk today they want £432 to renew. I'm 30 with over 10 years NCB and put my Snowflakes and DTUK box on policy last year (although this has since been removed from the car). Directline want £348 or if i put the wife on it £312 but i'll need to phone them too see how much my Snowflakes (which are off for the winter) will bump up the poicy by. I've also got an irmscher grill to add onto my policy as santa brought me 1!
I think i'll give adrianflux a phone and see what they come up with.

Unfortunately the entire group of ADMIRAL companys are well known and disliked by most if not all the consumer mags and surveys....they are renowned for dreadfull service, poor claims payouts and low quality...

You gets what you pay for I'm afraid
