idling rough

Hi folks

tonight i have had another problem with my vectra cdti 120, my battery still hasn't been changed yet but thats gonna happen tomorrow as its very weak, i had a mechanic friend look at it and thats what his diagnostics said.......

anyways my car started to idle rought tonight around the 800 -1000rpm and i have noticed it being a little down on power does anybody have any ideas what this could be cheers

why is your battery flat ?.......

if the altonator isnt charging the engine will not run correctly

check the plugs on the injectors for corostion and corect fitting ...

my mechanic friend checked it and said it was only puttin out 13v which is shocking

i never thought off that, im gettin the new battery tomorrow but could it be the EGR valve also??

could be a faulty alternator ask at your dealer to check if it comes within the batch of faulty ones, as to the rough idle it could be the swirl actuator bar fell off, take off the engine cover and look in-between cam covers to see if the shaped bar has come off!(common fault ) if so search thread's for ''how to fix inlet manifold for a quid''

vx have just fitted a new alternator on mine free of charge as it was deemed a faulty part when fitted recalled most of the range maybe worth checking as for rough idling egr shouldnt effect it that much try unpluging it just to test

well folks i put the new battery in today and the car has a vibration when sittin around 1k rpm?? i thought it could be dodgy fuel because it takes abit off effort now to start and it doesnt sound to good when doing it either!!

whats yrs did the faulty alternator lye between

warranty ran out in july and to top it all off its not the alternator its the fly wheel, does anybody know a good place to get parts from either in the uk or northern ireland!

wow a fault with the flywheel if your cars got full vx service history talk to them about good will a flywheel cant be tampered with unless youve had your engine out or clutch done so if its faulty its the parts fault get vx to pay atleast some of the cost
