    Default Which car ??? !!! ???

    Hello,

Not quite a technical problem but still a problem !!

Looking to buy a Vec C. Want an SRi diesel due to mileage so cant have a VXR!! Need a bit of power - the CDTi 150 seems to tick those boxes.

    1) Looking on the site and the XP1/XP2 looks awseome, only problem is a cant find any for sale anywhere ?!?
    2) Black or Silver ?

    What do you think?

    Mark

sounds like the right choice for you id go with a silver one if doing alot of miles as black shows the dirt easy but i think black looks better when its clean

there must be some out there just keep looking. your local dealer might be able to track one down for you

How many miles do you do, and how long do you intend keeping the car?

I'm doing 20k a year and I drive a 1.8 - considering purchase price and petrol being 12p a litre cheaper, insurance being cheaper, AND it getting 38mpg, the petrol is cheaper to run than the 1.9CDTi Astra it replaced.

The 1.8s fine mate, the mrs had one and it went well enough, cruised on the motorway all day and she loved it. We now have a 1.9cdti with a tuning box and that thing flies. There is quite a difference between the 2 but only really after having the tuning box on.

Well I went from my Astra which was the 1.9-150 remapped to 200hp/310lb-ft. The 1.8 Vectra isn't anywhere close to fast compared to the Astra, but it's more than capable as long as you keep the revs going.

The only time I notice the drop in power is on A- and B-roads when going to overtake, I just need to remember to be in 2nd or 3rd instead of 5th.

No regrets at all going to the VVT.

Unless insurance groups go backwards now, yes, I'm sure.
