It was hard to watch but given the subject that's hardly surprising. At one time the funerals used to be shown as a news snippet on the news with just a brief shot of the family. Seeing the families being interviewed brings it home even more.
The memorial wall at the end was shocking. Not only because of the number of names that were being engraved on to it but also because of the space left for future ones.
Made me think a lot, especially when it was the young girl speaking about her dad, I just heals back the tears as I thought about my daughter growing up without a father. Must be so hard to lose someone in these circumstances. Documentaries like this should be aired a lot more often so the public can at least have an inkling at what is really happening, rather than the 30seconds these brave men and women get on the news channels.
Very true about the wall Steve and there will be a lot more names added to it in the years to come sadly. I just hope one of them isn't mine![]()
watched some of it last night but recorded it. Had to turn it off as my other half got too upset. Made me think long and hard though.
