    Default Hard Wire PDA

At present my PDA/SATNAV is connected to the cig lighter socket. This is far from ideal as it is not a permanent live.
The PDA sits on the far right, so can anyone advise on how to hard wire from this position. I have found a posting mentioning the headlight switch as a possible solution, but I have no idea how to gain access to the back of the switch.

The switch can be removed by pressing in the dial and twisting it (to the right IIRC) and it can then be pulled out.

One of the wires is a permanent live and I think its noted in the thread you may have read.

Thanks for info. Will check that out. Do the PDA wires need soldering
    To the switch ?

You can't just chop the plug off your PDA as it containes a fuse, and your PDA won't run off the full 12v and you will fry it.

The two options you have is to buy a hard wire Brodit mount for example, or what I did was to put a 12v multi adapter behind the dash, chop the plug off that and hardwire that into the permanet live / switched feed, then plug my lead off my PDA in to the multi adapter.

    Cheers
