    Default Snow Foam Problems

As some of you are aware I bought a Snowfoam gun and a litre of 3D foam from Autobrite last weekend and today finaly got to play with it but it didn't work as expected.
I put some of the solution in the gun bottle and topped up with water but the foam was very poor even on the max soap setting and broke down and ran off really quickly.
I made the mix stronger which did help abit but it still did the same. Foam comes out but as said breaks down really quickly and just runs off.
I was told that 1 litre would last for ages but at the rate its going thats not to be.
How much solution should I put in the gun bottle if I need a full mix and good foam. My gun bottle is 1 litre in size.

for a stong mix, say about 1.5 to 2cm in the bottle, then top the rest up with water, if you've got a good stong pressure washer the foam should stay on for about 5 minutes but which time its just started to drop and seperate,

What pressure washer you using, the higher the BAR the better the lance will be

    hope it helps

I use a Gilmour gun and put about 200cc of 3D foam top the rest with water. It does last for ages on setting B. Yes I found the foam to "break down" as it slid down the car body. But it did leave a good soapy feel. I then rinse off with water (hose pipe) then wash with bucket and wash mit. Fil 4822 brought his pressure washer and " foam gun" and used "ordanary" snow foam and the soap suds were just like shaving foam ( much to the amasment of someone walking by).
I don,t know if you are gettint the two ideas mixed up,. But I do get good results with my Gilmour and 3D foam.

A poor pressure washer will not give good results m8. You will need around 110bar for decent foam

I have got the Karcher K6.50 which is the drum type with onboard soap tank and long windup pressue hose and it uses the gun which I think is called the vario lance?.
The soap gun has an adjustable nozzle and soap mix tap and today I had the mix tap on full soap and tried various nozzle settings but as said I coulnt get stable foam.
Maybe I need to make it stronger and thats the problem

One inch of solution and the rest Hot/Warm water for best results. Start with the dial turned all the way to - not +. - is the strongest setting, the more you turn it to + the more air it lets in and the weaker the syphon into the mix. You want the foam to break down but after about 5 mins, as it runs off the car you want it to take the dirt with it. HTH

Im not sure about the 3d foam but I mix my foam 1:10 (foam:water) and set the nozle to give a 12-18" fan at about 150cm from the car. I turn the mix all the way up then give it half a turn back and I can get 3 foams out of a 1 litre mix from that. and the foam lasts on the car.
