    Default Driving standards

Has anybody noticed how crap the standard of driving has become since the clocks went back and we're all driving home in the dark?

Over the last two nights the 29 mile drive home has involved:

A bloke in an Astra pulling out from a side road directly in front of us resulting in a full on Emergency stop.

A *** in an Audi heading towards us on the wrong side of the road ear pressed to his mobile.

A ****** in a Clio driving the wrong way on a one way system at break neck speed so that we had to take to the grass.

An FLT being directed by a "Banks man" directly into the path of a bus which had to swerve round him nearly taking the front bumper off

A guy in a golf who somehow managed to slot in between me and the car in front as we left the motorway despite the fact there was a mile of unused motorway directly behind us and in front of the other car.

A dickhead in a Punto with baby in the back deciding that he wasn't turning right on the roundabout after all but was in fact going left straight across the bow of the Veccy. Another full on Emergency stop.

I'm sharing the driving with a colleague who is an advanced driving instructor and it's happening to him too when we are in his car.

I've reached the point now were I spend as much time on the brake as I do on the accelerator.

People dont care m8, but ever since i was bad and the police had a word i calmed down and it is funny to watch everyone around you all stay up the car in fronts 4rse just to get to work and the same home.

For example today i watched a van jump a red light today then a flurry of blues and twos behind him ha ha he deserved it, it was a blatant red light for 2 seconds when he jumped it.

    fully agreemate!

Only tonight a 4x4 missed stopping for a junction about 200yards in front of us. Luckily I was driving at a good enough speed that allowed me to stop in time.

After being hit up the arse by a Transit this morning, my day was topped off by a witless bint in a Vectra. She literally emergency stopped in front of the van I was following, because there was a Fire Engine a quater of a mile behind us.

The Van just stopped, I had my brakes on full, the ABS going ape, while the van got closer. I stopped literally an inch or so off the vans bumper.

The Fire engine passed and the daft tw@ bag in the Vectra carried on, oblivious to the carnage she nearly caused.

I know i'm goin on a limb here but unless it is a taxi/van driver it will 90% of the time be a woman. Sorry for offence caused but it is a fact that i see everyday, everymile and they always drive 40mph in a 60mph single carriage way, sit on the outside lane of the carriageway in their Micras and Fiestas and tailgate you in a 30mph in their 4x4's

How patronising is all what's just been written above eh? In early September someone started a poll entitled, "how fast have you had your veccy?" and then all the above kicks off! Sorry but i must be missing something here lads?
Get ready for a barrage of insults MrLubberLubber! I'm a big boy now, i can take it.

No idea where you got patronising from and I didn't post or vote in that thread.

It's a fact that if I or my colleague didn't take evasive action or braked to A complete stop a least half a dozen times this week we would have been in 6 crashes. Meanwhile the arsesoles go merrily on their way.

Perhaps patronising was the wrong word to use but i'm sure you got my drift?
Don't get me wrong i know where people are coming from above BUT its the idiots out there who speed and i'm talking real speed that cause a heck of a lot more accidents or near misses!

No I don't get your drift at all. Only one of the incidents was speeding. The bloke in the Clio but the fact that he was going down the a one way system the wrong way directly towards us was more of a concern.

There is a breed out there who rely on everyone else to take evasive action so that they don't crash.

The guy in the Astra. I watched him do exactly the same tonight except this time I was parked dropping off my mate. He drove straight up to the junction and turned right without looking left. He just didn't stop. **** all to do with speed.
