Vectra C Estate Stuck Tailgate Problem solved

Problem is the micro switch becoming stuck. To fix remove back panel ( 2 plastic pins and screw from inside the grab handle)
Undo the 2 nuts holding the release switch in place disconnect the cable, and take out the unit.
Remove protective cover and clean grease from around the micro switch.I managed to free the switch by gently pressing it and when freed pushing on and off till movement ok.
I believe there is a spray that is available to clean and protect electrical parts that may prevent a re occurance of the problem, not sure what it's called though.

I used the less sophisticated fix, I bashed the boot several times to "unstick" the switch, did dent the boot slightly though, lol

you know I did try the less subtle approach, unfortuneately I now have the Vauxhall Badge imprinted on the palm of my hand.!!

Yep, seems to be 'common' on the Signum with the estate being the same sort of set up.
