if the car has just had all the belts/pump done and documentation to back that up then its a bargain at that money.

Check for suspension wear as this is also prone and see what is done.

Not sure what X reg is for you guys but I recently sold my 8yr old 156 I had from new from 2000. Super car, apart from the cost of the 3yr belt change, it was a dream. No rust issues have been reported on the 156.

I would have no problem recommending one as long as it has a service history to back it up. There are plenty about so don't just go with the first one you see.

Check out alfaowner.com and see if there are any for sale on there. Better buying off an enthusiast than somebody that just uses it as a cheap run about.

You'll probably find that most posters on here will tell you to stick with the Vec and on the lafa sites you'll hear different.

If like you say the big service has just been done, then you're looking at cheap fun motoring for a few years
