Default Pre facelift Bulbs...help me see!!

Going to order some new H7 dips as I can't see where the heck I am going, living in the Highlands where there isn't many street lights and my dip bulbs are rubbish.

I have even tried putting Halfords Rally bulbs in there and nothing.

    Considering the following:-

    Osram Nightbreakers @ £14.50 a pair

    or

    Philips Extreme thingies lol

Let me know before I make a huge mistake and buy rubbish.

I've tried the Philips Xtreme and the Osram Nightbreakers, and found the Osrams to be variable - one bulb good, the other bad. Auto Express have said the same in the past. Thing is though, whilst the Xtreme are noticeably better than standard bulbs, the weak h/lights of the Vec-C mean they still won't be great, so you may be better off with a (good quality) after-market HID system, with a low temperature rating (i.e. more whiteness/visibility, less blue/purple showy tinge) e.g. 5000K.

I recently fitted the Osram NightBreaker and i must say they are a very big improvement on the standard one's.
I'm more than happy with them for 15 quid.

vision plus is still much better that "long life" bulps ..

nææææ he was hit from behind by a truck....so the rear seat was pressed up to the back of the front seat.. (the car could still drive.. so i was driven home.. and as i was a leased car.. that actually was due to be returned the next day... nothing to say that they where surprised...)

I got the new Halfords Extreme Brilliance ones, very slight upgrade on standard ones. Still not happy

On another quick query, the lug on the bulb, should it be pointing downwards in holder?
