    Default Wii memory card.

Just got the nippers a Wii for Christmas. Noticed that there's an awful lot of 'extras' that you have to buy for it.

Can someone recommend a decent (and cheapish) memory card for it. The game shops were asking £20 which is taking the proverbial. (Will a normal card fit?)

Fleabay...is the way to go any SD card will fit, and whilst on there i'd recommend getting a battery charger for the handsets as they eat normal batteries very quickly HTH

Got the charger already (another one of the 'extras' you need)

I've got a decent Sandisk Extreme 3 card unused (bought it for my camera). Guess that'll work then.

(Usually get my cards from Play/Amazon. Too many dodgy copies on e-bay)

Thats the make of card i've got in mine and never had a problem with it, have to admit i've been lucky with ebay for my cards so far but had issues just lately with one or two other bits.

The Wii is the best thing i've bought in a long time(apart from my Veccie).

I have had the Wii for nearly a year and as yet the memory that it came with has been sufficient for us

We've had the wii for a while now and like MrsGSI said we have never needed to use a memory card. The built in memory seems to be sufficient for us. Although we havent downloaded much for it just the internet browser and a couple of games. I dont really play on it, just the other half and the kids. I prefer my xbox. I was a bit dissapointed with the graphics on the wii, but i suppose it wasnt made for the graphical capabilities, more the unique way you play. My kids love it anyway, so thats all that matters.

Standard SD cards will work, I think it does have problems with some SHDC cards though.

http://www.7dayshop.com and the usual suspects like Scan, Novatech etc are good price-wise.
